Play grounds design
Natural Playgrounds and Children's Gardens
Children are our future. They need our care. Our mission is to develop natural play environments that promote healthy development across social, academic environmental and artistic interests.
As population pressure grows, our homes are becoming smaller and more crowded. As our home outdoor space shrinks, play areas, children's gardens and public open spaces need to fulfill many more roles. The activities we used to do at home will need to be accommodated within public parks and school playgrounds.
Early childhood play grounds require specialist design skills and experience to create settings worthy of the children's curiosity and imagination. Primary school playgrounds can be used for informal outdoor learning as well as learning through play. Whatever the age range, all 5 play types are supported by our playground designs.
Greenstone Design's award winning play designers understand that there is more to natural play than a pile of logs and boulders. We design early childhood playgrounds, school playgrounds, adventure playgrounds and urban play spaces for healthy children. We offer a research and evidence based design approach to child health and well-being.
As international experts we know when to call assistance. Depending on the project we partner with teachers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, architects and horticulturalists (who know which fruit trees for public playgrounds grow best and where, which trees provide best shade and are safely climbable), and psychologists (who understand the importance of the different types of play). Together we work with you to create natural and sensory play areas.
We design for a healthy environment - our ecologist will survey species currently in the area and suggest how to improve bio diversity. Bio-diverse, wildlife-attracting planting brings the concept of Biophilic Cities to life for children.
All this cost you no more. When we are commissioned for a new playground design project it makes sense to ensure you get best value possible from your budget. For example, if you need shade we will ensure it serves as an integral resource within the overall play garden, provides seasonal interest and offers flexibility to the space.
We design children's gardens as an integral part of healthy living communities. Our urban designers, play designers and landscape architects engage the community, use our internationally-tested consultation process to consult widely and design the overall space to include elements chosen through a truly collaborative process. To provide a sustainable solution requires deep thinking at the planning stage to ensure all needs are met. By collaborating with a broad range of experts our clients save time and money.
We design children's gardens, adventure play areas and local parks for sustainable, cost efficient use of public funds. Greenstone Design brings together the full range of social, health, education, environment, design and play consultants. Natural Play for healthy living, adaptable, inclusive public play grounds for sustainable communities, require a new way of thinking. Greenstone's landscape designers' broad vision combines the expertise of our multi disciplinary team to ensure balanced, cost-effective playgrounds for disabled and non-disabled children and their families.
